Important Installation Tips

 

Fiber Optic Removal and Installation

To Remove: Utilizing a top through hole as a guide, twist supplied drill bit with fingers until fiber optic has been cut in half

To Install: Trim fiber optic rod within 1/32nd" of each end of sight, ensuring the cut is straight and square then carefully melt the fiber optic ensuring each end is melted flush to sight

Front Sight Installation

‐ After removing front sight bolt, carefully slide front sight boss into slide sight hole ‐ Tap front sight flush to top of slide utilizing a soft tipped mallet
‐ Apply temporary thread locking compound to front sight bolt
‐ Rotate front sight bolt until head of bolt contacts slide

‐ Torque 25‐30° past this point

Rear Sight Installation

‐ Prior to rear sight installation, ensure set screw is not protruding from bottom of sight ‐ Visually center rear sight to center line of slide
‐ Fine tune center line of rear sight window to center line of front sight to within .001"
‐ Rotate set screw until head of screw contracts slide

‐ Torque 20° past this point

 

 

Tools and Materials Needed

For Fiber Optics: Nail clippers and cigarette lighter
For Sight installation: 3/16" thin walled hex head screw driver (Glock front sight installation tool), soft tipped mallet, thread locking compound, rear sight press or soft tipped punch, 1.5 mm hex wrench
